Our Old Door
During my touring, I found a beautiful old door (photo down) made of Olive tree’s wood (containing two old lockers, wood and iron) lying on earth in market, dirty and dusty, waiting for bargain hunter to take it away, I write:
Years and years ago…
It stood up in the entrance of our ancient house as a rock against the burning sun, the freezing winter and the stormy winds…
Hugging, loving and caring for us….
Years and years ago…
It stood up as a hard wall against intruders, burglars and housebreakers…
Protecting and defending our family members…
Years and years ago…
Passed through it all our family members, young and old,…
Some of them laughing…Some of them crying…Some of them shutting…
Some of them whispering… But our house’s door kept all our secrets, weird and wonderful tales in a safe place…
Years and years ago…
It stood up against the curiosity of strangers… It kept back all our family stories… A few happy stories… A few sad stories…
A few cheerful stories… A few heartbreaking stories…
Years and years ago…
but now it is lying down on earth crusted with dust and sheepfold’s debris… like a dead grubby old shepherd….
Waiting… and waiting for a stranger buyer to take it away from us…
for just a few Pennies… What a strange desire do humans have?
They sell what is dear for what is cheap.
